A Sacred Altar

To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 27 and 28.
God told Moses to make an altar of acacia wood (Exodus 27:1). He listed all the specifics of it, as you would do if you ordered a piece of furniture or a cabinet from a wood worker and knew what you wanted. You would expect the wood worker to follow your specifications. What wood worker would have a problem with that, especially if it came from a customer who knew his stuff? God gave the height of the altar (v. 1), that it had to have horns on the corner (v. 2), and so on (v. 3-8a), with the Lord concluding that Moses should make the altar, “as it was shown you on the mountain, so shall they make it” (Exodus 27:8). God knew what He wanted and showed that plainly to Moses. God expected a duplicate what of He showed Moses on the mountain.
Does God know what He wants from Christians? Yes, through Jesus Christ, God has shown us plainly what He wants. Can He expect from me what He ordered?
