The Firstborn of Egypt and of Israel

To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 13-15.
The tenth plague the Lord put on Egypt was the death of all the firstborn throughout the nation. The Lord also did something special with the firstborn of Israel, “Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Consecrate to Me all the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and beast; it is Mine'” (Exodus 13:1, 2). The Egyptians unknowingly sacrificed their firstborn for disobedience to God, but the Israelites knowingly used their firstborn to honor God. Later, God knowingly gave His Firstborn, so to speak, to bless the world, both Egyptian and Israelite. Do you know about the sacrifice of God’s Son?
Egypt hated God and gave up the firstborn to spite Him. Israel loved God and gave up the firstborn for Him. God loved Egypt and Israel and gave up His Firstborn for the nations. God loves you and wants you in His family. Are you a member of the family of God?
