On a Mountain Alone to Pray

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 14.22-36.
Jesus spent time with people, but sometimes He sent them away (Matthew 14.22), and on one occasion look at what He did afterwards, “And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there” (v. 23). Do you go up into the mountains, if any are close, for any reason? It does something to you! Try it some time alone and then pray. Even if you go up with someone, get away from them for a while and pray. See what it does to you. Then you will understand why Jesus did it.
