Sitting By the Sea

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 13.1-32.
Does this verse seem trivial to you? “On the same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea” (Matthew 13.1). He left the place where the previous conversations happened and went to the sea. There more preaching took place.
I suppose we could have said Matthew simply told us that the next time of teaching took place separate from the other time of teaching, for that is what happened. However, he did write the ones quoted above.
It shows that teaching can take place anywhere. Sometimes the best teaching environment is the place with the least distractions in God’s setting. To test that, go to a body of water and bring something to read and see how much easier it is to read there than at a busy place.
