What Happens Along the Way With Jesus?

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 9.18-38.
You will read of Jesus today and you will walk with Him. What shall happen along the way? Picture yourself with Jesus as He spoke to people. Suddenly a ruler approaches and announces that his daughter has just died and he requests that Jesus come and lay His hand on her to raise her from the dead (Matthew 9.18). Now picture what happened next, “So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples” (v. 19). You watched the Lord of heaven and earth follow a man. That about knocked me over when I read that. But there was more.
As you walk along following Jesus and this man, a woman approaches and she touches the hem of the Lord’s garment and it heals her instantly of a physical problem (v. 20-22). Don’t stop now, there is more.
You arrive with Jesus, and the father of the girl, at his home and find a noisy crowd wailing (v. 23). You hear Jesus say, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping” (v. 24a). Now get this next part, which also about knocked me over, “And they ridiculed Him” (v. 24b). They ridiculed the Lord! My recommendation to you is that you never ridicule the Lord! He will always have the last laugh! Next you see Him put out all the people and then He raises the girl (v. 25).
Then you see this happen, “And the report of this went out into all that land” (v. 26). Like I told you, the Lord will always, no exception, have the last laugh. Never ridicule the Lord. Never doubt His word. Never disobey Him.
See what happens today on your journey with the Lord of heaven and earth.
