How to Prepare for the King and His Kingdom

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 3.
Before God sent His Son to begin His preaching ministry, God sent another man to prepare the hearts of the people for the arrival of King Jesus. Matthew identified that man as John the Baptizer (Matthew 3.1), and Matthew identified John’s preaching as, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” (Matthew 3.2). No one can enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless he repents, turning from a life of sin, because the king of that kingdom is the Lord. God sent John before the Lord to prepare the way for the Lord (Matthew 3.3), and the manner of that preparation was repentance. The Lord is holy and so is His kingdom. The subjects in His kingdom, therefore, have to be holy and we become holy partly through repentance.
Have you repented of your sins?
