What Moves God Against His Enemies

To read the Bible in a year, read Nahum.
Nahum the prophet spoke against Nineveh (Nahum 1:1). Jonah had warned Nineveh of impending doom, unless the city repented–and they repented–but a century or more later, the city was back deep into sin and this time refused to repent. Therefore, Nahum began his message, speaking of God’s fury,
God is jealous, and the LORD avenges;
The LORD avenges and is furious.
The LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries,
And He reserves wrath for His enemies… (Nahum 1:2)
The jealousy of God moves Him against His enemies and the enemies of His people. God loves His people and when someone hurts them, He takes action against that person, or in this case, a nation, even as a man protects his wife. You never want to be the object of a husband’s wrath by having harmed his wife, yet, it is better to receive that than to be the object of God’s wrath by having hurt His people.
Never hurt Christians, for God will take vengeance on those who do. The opposite is also true. Do everything you can to help God’s people and He will bless you beyond imagination.
