God Knows All Who Belong to Him

To read the Bible in a year, read Revelation 11.
The Book of Revelation shows the Roman Empire troubling the church greatly and God troubling the Roman Empire greatly. With all the upheavals in the Roman Empire and the huge persecution the Empire launched against the church, did God lose track of His people in the confusion? Does He know everyone who is His?
Oh yes, He knows everyone and to show that, look at what John was to do, “Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, ‘Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there” (Revelation 11:1). I liked hearing that last part. God wanted John to measure those who worship. God knows us, but He wanted John to see that God knows just how many people worship Him.
God cares for the people outside the church/temple, but they are not included in the measuring, “But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months” (v. 2).
Do not fear. Nations come and go. Economies rise and fall. Yet, even as you do not forget your body, so the Lord does not forget His body, the church.
