God Lets Us Know

To read the Bible in a year, read Micah 1-3.
Has someone decided that he or she does not want to have anything to do with you? Did he tell you why? It is good if he did, because that way you know the problem. Perhaps you have had someone not tell you the reason and he refused to talk to you to reveal the problem. That was frustrating. You do not know what to do in such cases.
God is not like the latter case, but He does the former. He reveals the problem. He did that with His people through Micah the prophet. He used Micah during the days of several kings of Judah to reveal the sins of Samaria and Jerusalem (Micah 1:1). The Lord began His message, Hear, all you peoples! Listen, O earth, and all that is in it! Let the Lord GOD be a witness against you, The Lord from His holy temple. (v. 2)
He let Samaria and Jerusalem know what it would be like when He came down to visit their sin. The mountains would melt under Him (v. 3-5). He would punish the two cities for their sin of spiritual harlotry, that is, the worship of false gods (v. 6, 7).
Our God is a jealous God and He lets us know. He wants our exclusive loyalty. He will not share the love that is supposed to go only to Him.
Do not worship anyone or anything else besides the Lord God through Jesus Christ.
