Four Beasts, Four Nations

Read the Bible in a year by reading Daniel 7 and 8 today.
God gave Daniel a vision of four great beasts, each coming from the Great Sea that God stirred up with the four winds of heaven (Daniel 7:1, 2). Look at the beasts, “And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth.” (Daniel 7:3-8). The eagle-winged lion (Babylon), the lop-sided bear (Medo-Persia), the four-winged leopard (Greece), and the dreadful fourth beast (Rome) all came from the restless sea by God’s direction.
God has all things in control, although the mighty nations believed that they arose by their own power and, so, gave glory to themselves. God raised them as He needed them and dispensed with them when it was time.
All nations on the earth today came into existence and continue to their present hour by God’s direction. As long as a people remain godly, He will keep that nation going, but when it gives up on godliness and fights against Him and His people in the church, then that nation has signed its death warrant.
You can preserve your nation by being its salt and light (Matthew 5:14-16), and bringing as many as possible into the church.
