The Lord Gave Judah to Babylon

Read the Bible in a year by reading Daniel 1 and 2 today.
The nation God loved, He gave to the Babylonians who hated that nation. God sent Babylon against Judah and Jerusalem and the Babylonians besieged it until they took the city (Daniel 1:1). Also, “the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into [Nebuchadnezzar’s] hand, with some of the articles of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god” (Daniel 1:2).
God had threatened for a long time that He would do just what the first two verses of the Book of Daniel recorded. Possessing the house of God and the articles of the house did not disguise the sins of the Jews. They refused to repent of those sins and paid the price.
It matters not how great a nation is, but if they go into sin and do not repent, God will humble that nation greatly. What can you do to prevent such a tragedy? Repent of your sins. It all begins with the individual. We cannot wait until everyone else does it, but we have to save ourselves immediately, and then we can bring others with us.
