This Is Faith

Read the Bible in a year by reading Hebrews 11:1-19 today.
Most people believe that where knowledge, reason, and evidence leave off, faith picks up. It is unfortunate that opinion of faith prevails, because the Bible does not speak of faith in that way. The Bible says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony” (Hebrews 11:1, 2). Did you follow the wording of the Holy Spirit carefully? He said faith is substance. He said faith is evidence. Yes, we have faith when we hope for something and when we have not seen something, but faith is rooted in evidence so that it has substance. Faith is real. Faith has confidence in things that are real, although unseen. Faith is not merely a feeling of the heart, it is the acceptance of evidence.
