Creating Your Own Stumbling Block

Read the Bible in a year by reading Ezekiel 13-15 today.
There are enough temptations in the world, why do we torment ourselves by placing more before us? God spoke to Ezekiel about the people of Jerusalem, “Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them?” (Ezekiel 14:3). They made provision to fulfill their desire to sin. Did they realize what they did? Perhaps they did not, but these people knew at one time the Law of God. Therefore, since they did these things, God would not let Himself be inquired of by them. Now, that is a frightening thought.
The loving God in heaven wants to hear our prayers, but if we insist on causing ourselves to sin endlessly, He may turn away from us. Then where will we be? Let us put away all idols from our hearts and put only the God of heaven and His blessed Son and Spirit there.
