Your Life as a Prize

Read the Bible in a year by reading Jeremiah 43-45 today.
Jeremiah dictated to a man by the name of Baruch. So, he saw all the sins and disasters of Judah just like Jeremiah did. The Jews who rebelled against the word of the Lord and took Jeremiah to Egypt also took Baruch. Here was a man trying to do the right thing, but he saw constant sorrow. God had Jeremiah say something to Baruch. God knew the troubled heart of this good man. God assured Baruch that there would continue to be disaster on the Jews, but the Lord also said,
“‘And do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh,’ says the LORD. ‘But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go'” (Jeremiah 45:5).
While Baruch would see more disaster, adding to his sorrow, it was also true that the Lord was watching over him, saving him in every situation.
When bad things surround us, we have the tendency to think we are alone, but Someone watches over us, staying with us all the way.
