Prominent Men Lied About Jeremiah

Read the Bible in a year by reading Jeremiah 38 and 39 today. No one living in Judah during the days of Jeremiah, sought the good of the nation and of the city of Jerusalem more than Jeremiah did. Yet, the princes spoke to the king, saying, “Please, let this man be put to death, for thus he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man does not seek the welfare of this people, but their harm” (Jeremiah 38:4). It will baffle you when you see it happen, especially if people speak the lie against you, but people do those things. You will do one thing, but your enemies will say you are doing the opposite.
For example, those who oppose God and the Bible being in the public of a nation, claim that the church will do a society harm by public acknowledgment of God and by teaching the Bible. Yet, the opposite is true. Be prepared for such lies, and continue to be a good person.
