Do You Have a Messenger of Satan?

Read the Bible in a year by reading Second Corinthians 12 today.
Why do we have sufferings? There are many answers to that question. One answer might be what Paul experienced. He explained, “And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure” (2 Corinthians 12:7). God gave Paul special visions. He might have been tempted to think he was great that God would do such a thing. Therefore, God gave Paul a thorn in the flesh, allowing Satan to torment him to keep Paul humble.
You are good at what you do. And if you know that you are good, you might be tempted to think you are greater than what you truly are. Therefore, your thorn in the flesh reminds you that you are not God; you may not even be the best. You are a creature in the hand of God to do His will. Glorify Him.
