Abound in Everything

Read the Bible in a year by reading Second Corinthians 8 today.
Giving ourselves cannot substitute for giving our money when the need arises. This is why Paul wrote, “But as you abound in everything–in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us–see that you abound in this grace also” (2 Corinthians 8:7). A need had arisen in the church of the first century and Paul was encouraging the Corinthian church to be part of the solution. They were abounding in many things in their personal lives. They needed to abound in a new area also.
Sometimes it is easier for us to abound in self-improvement if we do not have to give anything, but a sign of self-improvement is whether we are willing to give to help others.
