The Cross Made People Believe

Read the Bible in a year by reading John 8:21-36 today.
Listen carefully to what Jesus said to the Jews, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things” (John 8:28). He prophesied that the Jews would lift Him up, which was a way of referring to the means of execution that they would employ, meaning the Roman cross, and He prophesied that at the time of the crucifixion, they would finally know who He was. That is precisely how it happened.
As the Jews observed the manner in which Jesus died, yet, how He had lived, they realized that He was right and that they were wrong. Luke wrote in his account that the Jews went away from the crucifixion scene beating their breasts. After that, God let them think on it for just over 50 days. Then Peter delivered that great sermon on the Day of Pentecost and those very Jews were converted.
What enters your mind and your heart when you see Jesus on the cross?
