It Takes Time to Reach Harvest

Read the Bible in a year by reading John 4:31-54 today.
Jesus told the apostles that they would be reaping on fields where they had not previously worked. Others had already prepared the fields, planting, watering, and doing all the other things necessary to bring about a great harvest. He then said, “I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors” (John 4:38).
We need to realize that reaping in the church today is like that. A congregation will often come up with a good idea. They try it a few times, and then give up when they do not see huge results immediately. We have to be patient. It takes time to reach the harvest. Much work has to be done.
