Detach Yourself

Read the Bible in a year by reading First Kings 3-5 today.
You have heard of the first display of the wisdom of Solomon. Two prostitutes were living together and each had a baby. One of them during the night rolled over her son and killed him. She then exchanged her dead baby with the other woman’s baby while she slept.
The first woman then went to Solomon to present the problem and the two women argued before him. Finally, he asked for a sword and then said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other” (1Kings 3:25). How was Solomon able to offer such wisdom? We could argue that he knew the true mother would never allow her son to be split in half, but for him to make such a bold statement, he had to detach himself totally from the situation, allowing no emotional attachments for the baby or for the true mother.
That is the best way to live by wisdom, just live it regardless of the outcome, that is, forget what the outcome might be, detach yourself from it, and the way of success will reveal itself.
