It Was Not Enough

Read the Bible in a year by reading First Samuel 27-29 today.
Samuel spoke to Saul from the dead, telling him that he and his sons were going to die the next day. Moreover, Samuel explained why. It was because of Saul’s sins from which he had not repented. Having heard the bad news, here is what he did: “Immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, and was dreadfully afraid because of the words of Samuel. And there was no strength in him, for he had eaten no food all day or all night” (1Samuel 28:20). It was good that he fell upon the ground and that he refused to eat, but that was as far as he went. It was
not enough.
He needed to confess his sins and, in his heart, truly turn from them. Then he should have implored the Great God of heaven, who loves to show mercy, and Saul would have received it.
When you see the consequence of your sin, truly turn from it, confess your sin, and beg for forgiveness from God. He will give it delightfully.
