Hearts Aflame!

Read the Bible in a year by reading Luke 24:1-35 today.
After His resurrection, Jesus talked with two men, but He kept them from recognizing Him. He wanted to know what they were talking about, and they told Him about Jesus and all things that were done to Him by the Jewish leaders, and how they had their hopes set on Him that He would redeem Israel.
He then rebuked them for their failure to understand the Scriptures in regard to the Messiah. He proceeded to explain to them in all the Scriptures, the things pertaining to the Messiah. Something was happening to them as He did this. He was showing that what had happened in those days, was just what the Scripture had said would happen. They were also seeing a connection between this man expounding to them the Scriptures and the Man in the Scriptures. After Jesus left them, they realized who He was and said to each other, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the
Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32).
Their hearts burned because someone opened up the Scriptures to them! Their hearts were set on fire.
Pray to God that your preacher and teachers open up the Scriptures to you, and pray also that God give you the ability to open up the Scriptures for others, and that those you talk to may have hearts aflame!
