Amazingly, David Still Wanted to Consult God!

Read the Bible in a year by reading First Samuel 30 and 31 today.
Amalekites raided the city where David and his men were staying, taking his two wives, and the wives and children of all his men. His men were so upset that they were talking of stoning him. It would seem that David would immediately pursue the Amalekites. After weeping until they were exhausted, do you know what David did? Read this, “So David inquired of the LORD, saying, ‘Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?’ And He answered him, ‘Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all'” (1Samuel 30:8). The Amalekites
had kidnapped David’s wives and he was in danger of losing his life at the hands of his men! We would say for him to go immediately and not waste any time praying, yet, he wanted to consult with the One who was the true leader.
Never get so caught up in what you have to do that you forget to seek God’s will.
