The Value of Patience

Read the Bible in a year by reading Luke 21:1-19 today.
Jesus warned His disciples that they would be persecuted, but that it would turn out to be opportunities to preach. He explained further that many people would hate them, even family and friends. That is when we want to explain to people who and what we are and why we are doing what we do, thinking that if only they knew, they would change their opinions. However, it does not always work that way. What we need to do is simply live as His disciples, and be patient, knowing that He will take of matters. Therefore, He said, “By your patience possess your souls” (Luke 21:19).
In our impatient we lose our souls, and our self-control and self-discipline, and then we sin. Just be patient, waiting on the Lord, and He will take care of matters.
