The Bible Is Enough

Read the Bible in a year by reading Luke 16:19-31 today
Years ago, a friend told me that if he could just see hell, he would stop sinning for sure. Someone just told me that recently again, but he did not apply it to himself, rather he thought that if we could show hell to others, they would turn to God.
In a similar way, Jesus told about a rich man who died and went to the torment side of Hades. The rich man saw someone he knew in the paradise side and asked if he could be sent to the rich man’s brothers back on earth to warn them of the place of torment. The answer was no, because those brothers have the Scriptures. The rich man reasoned in return that if his brothers could see someone rise from the dead, they would repent. In other words, they need more than the Scriptures, the rich man thought. They need to see some kind of demonstration, but the
answer came back, “If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead” (Luke 16:31).
Listen to the Scriptures and you shall live.
