Be Shrewd

Read the Bible in a year by reading Luke 16:1-18 today.
Sometimes we just do not think and we do not think creatively. We get in a rut, even if it hurts us. Jesus spoke a parable of a man who abused his employer’s finances. Therefore, the employer was going to fire him. Realizing that he would be left out in the street, he figured out a way to redeem himself. Jesus then said, “So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light” (Luke 16:8). As you will discover in your reading, the man thought outside
the box and saved himself. The “sons of the light” often fall into thinking that things can only be done one way, but the sons of this world do not limit themselves. Jesus is encouraging us to open our minds to the possibility of accomplishing things by trying new ways to do it.
