Set on High

Read the Bible in a year chronologically by reading Deuteronomy 28 today.
God promised Israel that if they obeyed Him, He would bless them wonderfully. He began by saying, “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth” (Deuteronomy 28:1). Israel would not be set on high by having the largest country in the world, nor would they rule over all the nations, but in their tiny land God would bless them in everyway and it would be obvious that God had blessed such a small nation. Then the rest of the nations of the world would respect them
greatly.
Likewise, when you follow Jesus do not expect to be the richest in the land, but that the Lord will so work in your life that it will be obvious that He is the One who blessed you.
