Love and Obedience

Read the Bible in a year chronologically by reading Deuteronomy 11-13 today.
It is not uncommon to find preachers and teachers who say that loving God means that you do not have to be concerned about obeying all His commandments. The moment I hear that, I know he does not know God, although he speaks of loving God. Moses told Israel that loving God and obeying Him go hand in hand, “Therefore you shall love the LORD your God, and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments, and His commandments always” (Deuteronomy 11:1). He who loves God wants to obey God. He who says that he loves God, but does not want to obey God, only likes the feeling of love toward God and the false believe that such allows him to live as he pleases.
