The Danger of High Self-Estimation

Read the Bible in a year chronologically by reading Mark 14:27-50 today.
After Jesus prophesied of His death and then resurrection, and that all of the disciples would stumble because of these things, Peter said sincerely, “Even if all are made to stumble, yet I will not be” (Mark 14:29). Yet, hours later, he did just what Jesus said he would do, and he did not do what he confidently believed he would do. Peter believed that he knew ahead of time, how he would react in a very trying situation, but he was wrong. He sincerely believed what he said, but when the time of trial arrived, he failed.
Be careful of what you boast on your own behalf.
