Separating Yourself to the Lord

Read the Bible in a year chronologically by reading Numbers 5 and 6 today.
There were times when an Israelite would want to do something special with the Lord. Therefore, He instructed Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When either a man or woman consecrates an offering to take the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to the LORD…” (Numbers 6:2), and the rest of the chapter explained how an Israelite was to keep the vow of the Nazirite.
Christians also separate themselves from the world for the Lord, but there may be times when we need to spend some extra time with the Lord by ourselves or perhaps with another group of people. By all means, do it. You do not have to follow the vow of the Nazirite that was for the Israelites, but spend time in Scripture meditation, prayer, and fasting. You will be a better man or woman for it.
