Miriam Was Brave

Read the Bible in a year chronologically by reading Exodus 1-3 today.
Pharaoh ordered that when an Israelite boy was born, they were to throw him into the river. However, when Moses was born, his parents did not obey Pharaoh. Yet, as the child grew, the parents could no longer keep their son hidden. Therefore, his mother placed him in a little ark and put him in the river. His sister watched and followed the ark. Then his sister saw the daughter of Pharaoh discover the baby boy. The Bible then says, “Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, ‘Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?'” (Exodus 2:7). This young girl was risking her life. If Pharaoh had discovered the rescue of a Hebrew baby boy, he would have ordered the death of the boy and probably would have punished his sister in some way. She spoke to the very woman whose father ordered the death of all the Hebrew baby boys!
Never assume that children cannot do great and brave things for God. They love God and will do anything for Him. Therefore, do not hinder a child from serving God, but encourage him or her all that you can.
