God Provided for Abram

Read the Bible in a year chronologically by reading Genesis 13:14-14:24 today.
Abram asked his nephew Lot to choose whatever land he wanted for his business. Lot chose the plain of the Jordan, because it was well watered, which was excellent for his livestock, and it was beautiful in appearance, which was excellent for his well-being. Lot chose the better of the lands. After their meeting, the Bible says this, “And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: ‘Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are–northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever” (Genesis 13:14, 15).
Abram deferred to another, allowing that other person to make the better choice that would allow his business to prosper. However, Abram was a follower of the God of heaven and Abraham knew that God would provide for all of Abram’s needs and wants. That is exactly what the Lord did, giving to Abram much more than just the plain of the Jordan, but giving him the land of Canaan.
