Foundational Thinking for Understanding Your Life

Read the Bible in a year chronologically by reading Job 33:19-34:37 today.
You know that there are certain foundational truths on various subjects that allow you to progress successfully in that field. For example, how far would you get in English if you did not know the alphabet? You could add a few more of those kinds of truths. The same thing is true in regard to life.
Elihu spoke one of those foundational truths for understanding how life works, when he said to Job, “Surely God will never do wickedly, nor will the Almighty pervert justice” (Job 34:12). When I think about my life and the way that it is, especially those things that are beyond my control, I have to be convinced that God will never do wickedly, but that He always does righteously, and He will never pervert justice, but He will always maintain justice.
Perhaps we cannot always see that, but it is the truth. I have been preaching for over 26 years and my countless observations have shown me that those who do not live by the foundational truth that Elihu expressed are often frustrated with life. Those who accept it also accept life and live in happiness.
