Purpose to Have a Good Conscience

Read the Bible in a year chronologically by reading Job 26 and 27 today.
Job showed his resolve when he said to his friends, “My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go; my heart shall not reproach me as long as I live” (Job 27:6). There are many things that tempt us everyday (You certainly did not need me to tell you that), therefore, we have to purpose in our hearts to hold on to our righteousness. Job said further that he would not allow his heart to reproach him for the rest of his life. He did not mean that if he sinned, he would just ignore it and not rebuke himself. Contrariwise, he would so live that he would not violate his conscience. Moreover, when he did sin, he would confess that sin and repent of it, seeking forgiveness from the Lord. Job knew that living above reproach was the only way to go.
Friends, have the same purpose in your heart. You certainly know that is the way to live. If you want peace and freedom, follow the example of Job.
