Who Do You Listen To?

Read the Bible in a year chronologically by reading Job 15 today.
Who has your ear? When you want to know what to do in life, whose counsel do you seek? Should we not seek wisdom from the Lord? Yet, Eliphaz said something that he misapplied to Job, but it was nevertheless a good question. He asked Job, “Have you heard the counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?” (Job 15:8).
How often do we rely upon our own wisdom? Have you noticed that life gets real tough sometimes? Not only does it get tough, but also the frustration level grows mightily as a result. I have been there many times, only to realize later that I had not been consulting the wisdom of the Lord, nor had I prayed to Him. So, I sought His wisdom and prayed to Him, and the troubles did not go away, but my ability either to endure them or to deal with them increased more than I had ever hoped.
Seek God’s wisdom through His word and from people who know His wisdom. Pray that you would glorify Him in what you are doing. See if these things make a difference.
