Can You Show Mercy?

Read the Bible in a year by reading Hosea 1-4 today.
The Lord made a serious charge against Israel. This is what Hosea wrote, Hear the word of the LORD, You children of Israel, For the LORD brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “There is no truth or mercy or knowledge of God in the land” (Hosea 4:1).
Many preachers, including me, have used this passage in conjunction with verse 6 to show the danger of ignorance of God’s word and ignorance of God. We have preached some powerful stuff from these verses.
However, there is another thing that God brought as a charge against the people of Israel, they were not showing mercy to one another. Who does not want mercy? Why do we all want mercy? Showing mercy implies that we have done something wrong and we want the mercy that we might avoid the consequences of our wrong behavior.
Yet, it is not just others showing me mercy, but I must show mercy to others. Can I do it? Will I do it? Someone will probably wrong you today. Be ready to show mercy to him, for that is what God wants. Just do it and see what a better person you become.
