How Fearing God Shows Up in Life

Read the Bible in a year by reading Daniel 5-7 today.
We are to fear God, but not fear man. Yet, how do I show that? Do it as Daniel did.
The Medes and the Persians made a law that to petition any god other than the King of the Medo-Persian Empire would be thrown into the den of lions. After that law was signed, here is what Daniel did.
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days (Daniel 6:10).
Knowing that if he did what he did, he was subject to the death penalty by having lions eat him alive, he still did as he had made a practice of doing since he was a young person. There is a man who did not fear man or beast, but feared God. Daniel knew that the consequences of forsaking his God were greater than forsaking the gods of men.
