To Succeed, Purpose in Your Heart

Read the Bible in a year by reading Daniel 1 and 2 today.
Do you want to succeed at something? Most people want to be successful at something or as someone, but they expect it to happen automatically. Life does not happen that way.
There is a story in the Bible of a successful man living the Babylonian and Medo-Persian Empires. That man was Daniel. If you want to know the beginnings of his success, listen to this. As a captive from Judah, the Babylonians saw something in him that they wanted. Therefore, they brought him to Babylon. While there they sought to make him eat the king’s food, which would have included things forbidden by the Law of Moses. However, watch what happened next.
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself (Daniel 1:8).
At this time, Daniel was very young. He knew the capability of the Babylonians to kill people instantly. Therefore, with such a purpose he was risking his life. Yet, he was a man of principle and would not violate those principles for any reason. It was that kind of purposing in the heart that made him a successful man.
Are you ready now to become successful?
