What a Sight!

Read the Bible in a year by reading Ezekiel 8-10 today.
Chapters 8-10 of Ezekiel are amazing. Just picture how it begins. The prophet said in 8:1, “the hand of the Lord GOD fell upon me.” Then Ezekiel wrote,
Then I looked, and there was a likeness, like the appearance of fire–from the appearance of His waist and downward, fire; and from His waist and upward, like the appearance of brightness, like the color of amber (Ezekiel 8:2).
Ezekiel saw God. Then the prophet said that God took him to see the idolatry of Jerusalem. There was Jerusalem worshiping man-made images. Compare an idol that men make with the glory of God that Ezekiel saw in verse 2. There is no comparison. Wait until you read chapter 10. Try to see what Ezekiel saw in 8:2 and in the other visions that he will show you in today’s reading and then compare it with anything on earth, whether man-made or God-made.
Keep the appearance of God’s glory in your mind today, and then when you see others who have more than you do, you will not become envious, knowing that you have the glorious God.
