Do Not Let This Waste You Away

Read the Bible in a year by reading Ezekiel 3 and 4 today.
Jerusalem was a rebellious city and God was going to send the Babylonians against His beloved city. This is what Ezekiel 4 pictured. The siege would be awful. The chapter ends with these words, when God said,
“that they may lack bread and water, and be dismayed with one another, and waste away because of their iniquity” (Ezekiel 4:17).
Jerusalem developed a habit of sin and refused to repent. This was not a mental illness, but it was rebellion against God’s only prescribed way of righteous living. Therefore, they were about to suffer for it. They were going to waste away because of their habitual sin. How many people are wasting away because of impenitent and unforgiven sin, but they go to people who tell them that they have some kind of medical problem or that the world is just against them?
Do not let sin attach itself to your soul, because it will grab your throat and it will not let go until it has choked you to death. Run to God and He shall forgive you of your sin. If you have never been baptized before, do it now. If have been, confess your sin to God and follow His Son daily.
