It Will Be Tough for the Church, But She Will Survive

Read the Bible in a year by reading Jeremiah 46 and 47 today.
Israel sinned and terrifying things were happening around the nation. Babylon was on the loose, conquering nations everywhere. Israel would be one of them. People feared the hearts of the people. Therefore, the Lord said to His people,
“Do not fear, O Jacob My servant,” says the LORD,
“For I am with you;
For I will make a complete end of all the nations
To which I have driven you,
But I will not make a complete end of you.
I will rightly correct you,
For I will not leave you wholly unpunished.”
(Jeremiah 46:28).
Babylon was powerful and had little mercy. Seeing that Israel was full of sin, the nation might have concluded that they would be wiped out. However, God assured them that such was not the case. Yes, He would punish them, but not to the point of annihilating them.
The same happens to the church. There are times that God must correct the church, and she thinks that she is shrinking so fast in numbers that she will disappear. Yet, the New Testament shows that the church shall last. Live righteously and you shall be among the numbers that survive.
