God Knows When We Are Ashamed

Read the Bible in a year by reading Jeremiah 30 and 31 today.
In the following passage from the prophet Jeremiah, God revealed that He knew exactly how the tribe of Ephraim was responding to the knowledge of its own sin. God said,
“I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself:
‘You have chastised me, and I was chastised,
Like an untrained bull;
Restore me, and I will return,
For You are the LORD my God.
Surely, after my turning, I repented;
And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh;
I was ashamed, yes, even humiliated,
Because I bore the reproach of my youth.'”
(Jeremiah 31:18, 19).
When I read that, it surprised me because I have had similar thoughts about myself. My God knows the sorrow of my heart when I repent. Therefore, the sooner I do it, the better.
Do you need to repent? Why delay? Your eternal salvation is at stake.
