Watch Out for the Affairs of this Life

Read the Bible in a year by reading Second Timothy 4 today
There are many things going on in this world, both in our lives and in the world around us. However, we have to have self-discipline to keep our minds on the things of the Spirit. Paul wrote Timothy, telling him,
No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier (2 Timothy 2:4).
The affairs of this life, if we are not mindful of it, will entangle us in them. Then doing the things that the Lord wants us to do will be far from our minds. Watch yourself. Are you becoming entangled in the things of this world? Be careful. Exercise self-discipline.
QUESTION from today?s reading assignment: What did Paul tell Timothy to pursue?
