Truths that Transform

by Neville Buchanan
Henry and Mary were enjoying their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends came from far and near to help make it a special day.
Henry smiled endearingly at his wonderful wife and, overcome with fond emotions, he lent forward and whispered in her ear: “Mary, through all the years we have been together, you have always been tried and true.”
Mary stared back at him in horror and shouted, “Well I am tired of you too.”
Jesus calls us to be different from the world — he calls us to a higher standard of living. He calls us to always be tried and true.
Why don’t you try his standard of living? Start each day in prayer — pledge to lay your life on his altar.
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:1,2).
